Went to Omaha on Friday to shop around and have fun with Dakota and Sparx. They wanted to go to the pawn shop to look at guitars, so I was just kinda walking around, not really caring about what was there, until I found the epic collection of cheap lenses.


Bought a new macro lens for my camera. Its actually the first lens I've bought for it, besides the one that came WITH the camera.

Eep. I'm so excited, I can't wait til I get film to try it out with. >.> Unfortunately, I a million other things while in Omaha and not one of those things included film. Oops.




The only thing I don't like about the lens, so far from just playing with it, is that I can't get uber macro-ly close to the objects. The zoom on it though is what makes it macro-quality. So. I dunno. Sigh. I guess its better that way, I don't have to be in an uncomfortable position to get the shot, while the heavy lens is making me shake worse than normal and blah blah blah. I dunno. We'll see.

Ugh. I thought this would be appropriate here.

So I'm at Camp Robindel in NH, and its going semi-great, I'm taking tons of pictures, some that are being uploaded here and some on facebook, but mostly, as per my job, on this bunk1 website so parents can see their children.

So facebook though? I've uploaded mostly staff pictures, as well as some pretty sunsets because, well they're pretty.


But I found my pictures in someone else's profile, as if they took them theirselves. No tag or reference to them being my photos whatsoever. Sorry but I take pride in my work and I prefer if you don't steal it.
If you want to borrow it and upload it and then tag or reference me, that's great. Just show some goddamn credit. OTherwise that's plagairism and I don't play well with thieves.

I don't even care if it was a bad picture because the camera was shaking or the person ran too fast. If I uploaded it because I took it then its MY photo and MY artwork and if you take it without crediting the artist (AKA Me), then its stealing. Stop stealing my work.

So, I was looking through some of the macro shots that have been posted here on devA.

It was kind of annoying to me. There were so many shots that aren't actually macro.

You have to get close for photography.
You have to get closer for macro photography.

And they were doing shots that looked to be at least two feet away and I'm sitting here thinking to myself "What the mother flip?"


My favorite type of macro photography is where you have to ask the photographer WHAT the picture is of.

Help me win.

I can get up to $350 USD in scholarship money. Which would help for rent this summer.
